Delhi Kannada Senior Secondary School

Delhi Kannada Senior Secondary School (DKSSS) is a CBSE English Medium School located at Lodhi Estate, New Delhi, and is managed by the Delhi Kannada Education Society (DKES).The school traces its roots to the educational vision of DKES, established in 1959 with the objective of providing quality education to the Kannada-speaking community in Delhi. The school commenced its journey in 1961 with just 10 students.Today, the school has grown into a well-established educational institution serving more than 1,200 students from Nursery to 12th Grade and generations of families in Delhi.DKSSS is a Linguistic Minority Aided School functioning under the Department of Education, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

The school believes that education should develop not only academic ability but also character, confidence, creativity and social responsibility.

S.V. Krishnamurthy Rao – Founder President

S.V. Krishnamurthy was born on 15 Nov, 1902. He was an Indian Politician belonging to the Indian National Congress. He was a member of the Upper House of the Indian Parliament, the Rajya Sabha from 1952 to 1962. He was also the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. He was elected to the Lower House of Parliament, the Lok Sabha from Shimoga, Mysore State in 1962. He was the Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 1962 to 1967. School is formally opened with 10 students on its roles, one teacher-cum-Principal and one clerk in October 1961 on Vijay Dashmi Day.
